Stabilizing Your Denture
Although many patients adapt to upper dentures, many find lower dentures difficult to wear and eat with due to slipping. We offer several implant-supported options to lock your teeth in place.
Option 1: Ball Attachment
GoodTwo implants are placed in your lower jaw. Your denture is modified with snaps that attach to these implants.
- Much more stable than glue.
- Some movement remains; seeds can get caught.
- Removable for cleaning.
Option 2: Bar Attachment (Overdenture)
BetterFour to six implants connected by a custom support bar. Your denture clips firmly onto this bar.
- Very little movement; high stability.
- Still removable for easy hygiene.
Option 3: Screw-Retained Permanent
Five or more implants attached to a permanent denture held in place by screws.
- Permanent: Only removed by the doctor.
- Comfort: Does not rub gum tissue.
- Feel: Most like natural teeth.
Option 4: Individual Implants
Natural LookReplacing teeth individually (usually 8+ implants) so they appear to grow out of your gum tissue.
- Highest aesthetic quality.
- Crowns often joined for strength.
A Note on Upper Dentures
Implant options can eliminate the need to cover the roof of your mouth. This allows you to fully taste your food and sense temperature again—a life-changing benefit for many patients.
